Remember when movies used to make you laugh out loud? Not just a chuckle, but plenty of real belly laughs? Or when a film would move you to tears? Can you recall the last movie that made you feel so good, you were still talking about it long after the closing credits rolled?
This Friday, November 20th, Warner Brothers Pictures is releasing just such a film.
The Blind Side, based on the true life story of All-American football player Michael Oher, stars Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. McGraw delivers an impressive and believable performance as the good-natured husband/father Sean Tuohy, and Bullock’s exceptional portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy could very well be her best of her career. Can we say Oscar?
Quinton Aaron ably plays Michael Oher, a homeless teenager whose life is changed forever by the kindness of the Tuohy family. Michael, who was the first draft pick for the Ravens in 2009, is the catalyst for change in the Touhy family’s lives as well.
Lily Collins and Jae Head are both likeable in their roles as the Tuohy children, with Jae providing a high level of comic relief. Considering his youth, this isn’t easy to pull off; yet Jae does it masterfully.
Kathy Bates turns in a fine performance as Michael’s tutor, and delivers a good bit of comedic lines herself.
The Blind Side was written and directed by screenwriter John Lee Hancock, and is based on the book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. It is being
distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures, and is a presentation of Alcon Entertainment.
Beware: The Blind Side will blind side your funny bone and your emotions, and remind you that there are still good people out there making a difference in someone’s life.
Rated PG-13. Additional details are available at www.TheBlindSideMovie.com
