Garth Brooks Comes Out Of Retirement

Share/Save/Bookmark

GARTH BROOKSGarth Brooks announced that he will be coming out of retirement to play an extended series of shows in Las Vegas.

Garth made the announcement at a press conference in Nashville, Oct. 15. He will end his self-imposed retirement with an extended engagement at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas. "We're going to take the retirement roof off over our head, and I already feel taller," Garth said. In 2000, Garth announced that he would retire from country music while his three daughters were growing up. He made occasional appearances at charity functions or awards shows but mostly stayed away from the spotlight and off the performing stage. During his morning press conference, Garth hinted that he might like to do more live performing in the future. "I want to do more stuff everywhere," he said. "I want to do more stuff here [Nashville]. I'd love to play the Opry more. I know I owe them, and if they want it, then they should have it." Garth added that he did not miss the spotlight as much as the faces in the crowds.
