A deadly hit and run accident in Texas has claimed the life of Nashville's Buck Jones.

His widow is told by police the driver was intoxicated.

The accident occurred just outside Dallas early Saturday morning, as Jones and his guitarist were on their way to play at a private party.

With his music featured on his Web site, Jones was recently called "one to watch" by Country Weekly Magazine.

LA's Music Connection Magazine also profiled his recent success and label signing.

Jones' widow, Amy-Beth, knew success was on the horizon, but the dream ended when Jones and his guitarist got a flat tire near Dallas. An...
...operator from AAA responded to their call for help by asking for a mile marker on their highway.

Jones was walking along a service road when a truck hit him.

Amy-Beth was told by police investigators that the driver of that truck was being charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

Forest Hills friends, fellow performers and loved ones gathered to remember Jones.

While music was his passion, Jones would take construction jobs to support his family.

Jones, 33, leaves behind a seven-month-old son, Walker Dylan, as well as his widow.

His long-time promoter and manager Billy Block said Jones' memory and music willlive on.
