THAT'S THE NIGHT THAT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT IN...ARKANSAS

It was an incredibly busy Fan Fair week for Ty Herndon: an IFCO performance, a Country Weekly fashion show appearance, a performance at the Reading, Writing and Rhythm benefit, a performance on the Riverfront stage, a Fan Club party and concert, a late-night club performance, radio remotes, media interviews, a tractor race and autograph signing in several booths. And that was just Tuesday through Friday.
Saturday's itinerary included a concert stop at the Pink Tomato Festival in Warren, Arkansas. What it didn't include was an accidental two hour power blackout caused when the satellite dish atop Herndon's tour bus clipped an electrical wire just inside Warren. More than half of the town was without power, including country station KWRF that happened to be playing - you guessed it - Herndon's new single, "Mighty, Mighty Love," when the outage occurred. The power was restored without any delay to that evening's concert.
Soon after sun up on Sunday, the bus was back in Nashville so that Herndon could help out at the Habitat for Humanity build that was taking place on the Fan Fair campus. Alongside homeowner-to-be JoAnnette, Herndon showed his carpentry skills, as the two worked on the home's framing. From there it was on to the Michael Peterson celebrity tractor race where Herndon turned in a respectable course time of :55.
